Here is the assembled unit.
With no real antenna, he’s picked up stations across the USA and from Mexico and Argentina. Testing the transmitter will have to await getting a real antenna.

The K3
Glenn’s Elecraft K3 Transceiver kit arrived here in Cumming. It was a kit and had to be assembled. Here is Glenn putting it together on the dining room table.
